Hospice and Home Care Services

I have worked with many patients and their family members to help support the process of transition and dying. Acupuncture is a safe treatment for physical conditions that are common among hospice and palliative care patients.  In studies conducted, acupuncture was found to be a useful treatment for treating Xerostomia (dryness of the mouth), nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath and most importantly pain, in a drug-free way without side effects. Acupuncture can be an extremely effective treatment for emotional, mental, and spiritual distress. The World Health Organization recognizes acupuncture as an adjunctive therapy for palliative care patients. Acupuncture can help calm the body, mind and spirit.  Furthermore, researchers note, “due to cognitive impairment associated with Alzheimer’s Disease, acupuncture on specific points can modulate the cerebral blood flow and strengthen the hippocampal connectivity.
Acupuncture can easily be done in your own home if needed, and can be billed to your insurance company.

I am certified by the National Association of Hospice and Palliative Care Acupuncturists.

I offer my skills of deep listening and acupuncture, in being with those who are dying.

I offer care in your home that helps to ease the pain and anxiety that often comes with the transition process, for those who are dying and their caregivers.  I consider this to be an honor and place of deep grace.

Roshi Bernia Glassman called for compassionate action being a part of our existence. This is a guiding principle in my life.
